The Pearl Of Kazakhstan

Sorry for the technical difficulties we believe they have been resolved.
The extra visit to the babyhouse was great today. Sundays are ususally not open to visits but since we were expecting a visitor, the prosecutor (who never showed), we got extra time with Ryan. After the visit we took a tour of the Burabay Region. Most of Kazakstan is composed of flat plains with few trees. The Burabay is a cluster of Mountains containing over 117 lakes. It is forrested with toothpick pines and white birch. There are many boulders stacked up or sliding down the slopes. We visited one lake which contains the Pearl of Kazakhstan. It's called the Sphinx Rock or the rock with two faces, a beautiful woman on one side and a hag on the other. Legend has it that the trees by the Sphinx are magical and if you tie a ribbon on a branch your wish will come true. Needless to say we wished for a long and happy life for Ryan. The area reminds me of Lake Tahoe as the Mountains seem to rise straight out of the water. It is breathtaking in the winter and must be stunning in the summer. The Kazak people are very proud of this area. The "white butted deer" were a bonus and we must find out what they are really called. We found a food that we actually like...will fill you in tomorrow. Paka, Paka.
